The Inverness Castle Experience signals confidence in year round Highland tourism
The Inverness Castle Experience has signalled growing confidence in the future of Inverness and the wider Highlands as a year‑round visitor destination by opening group visit planning through to 2028 and confirming winter group travel rates for the coming seasons.
The move reflects growing interest in the Highlands' newest attraction and a desire to encourage visits beyond the traditional peak summer months, thereby supporting local businesses and sustained activity throughout the year.
Set within the landmark ‘Inverness Castle’, the attraction offers a distinctive experience that goes beyond a traditional castle visit. Formerly a courthouse and prison, the building has been reimagined as a contemporary, immersive attraction that brings the Highlands to life through powerful storytelling. The experience is shaped by voices from across the region, with personal stories that reflect the Spirit of Highland landscape, culture and identity at its heart.
As part of its longer‑term planning, The Inverness Castle Experience is now accepting enquiries from tour operators and group organisers for visits in the current year as well as provisional planning for 2027 and 2028. While later bookings will be confirmed closer to the time of travel, early enquiries allow organisers to build Inverness into future itineraries with confidence.
The attraction has also confirmed that winter group rates will apply from 1 November 2026 to 21 March 2027, creating further opportunities to attract visitors during traditionally quieter periods. The initiative supports wider efforts to promote off‑season tourism in the Highlands, helping to increase footfall for accommodation providers, hospitality venues and local services.
Amy MacLeod, Head of The Inverness Castle Experience, said: “By encouraging group visits throughout the year, including the winter months, we can help support local businesses and position the Highlands as a destination that offers something special in every season.”
“Planning for future years gives confidence to organisers while allowing us to deliver a high‑quality experience for guests and ensuring the benefits of the visitor economy are felt across the city and the wider Highlands.”
The Inverness Castle Experience is expected to attract visitors from a wide range of markets, contributing to the city’s growing reputation as a year‑round destination and creating opportunities for collaboration with local accommodation providers, hospitality businesses and tour operators.
Group organisers and tour leaders interested in bringing visitors to Inverness are encouraged to submit enquiries via the Group Booking Enquiry Form on The Inverness Castle Experience website.
