The Inverness Castle Experience Welcomes Full Team as Training Begins
The Inverness Castle Experience has now welcomed its full complement of staff, marking another key milestone before the site transitions into its operational phase. Nearly 90 new team members are being inducted this week, across part-time, full-time, and seasonal roles.
Over the coming weeks, all staff will take part in a comprehensive training programme to ensure they are fully prepared to deliver a memorable and high-quality experience. This includes the full kitchen team for the new Saltire Bistro and the retail team for the shop, who are getting ready to welcome locals and visitors alike to the experience.
The Inverness Castle project is part of the Inverness and Highland City-Region Deal, a joint initiative supported by up to £315m investment from the UK and Scottish governments, The Highland Council, Highlands and Islands Enterprise and the University of the Highlands and Islands, aimed at stimulating sustainable regional economic growth.
The Experience represents a significant investment in local employment and skills, creating stable year-round roles in the heart of the Highlands. Operational 364 days a year, the experience will provide long-term flexible opportunities across hospitality, retail, visitor services and operations, helping to sustain Inverness city centre and the Highlands as a vibrant, welcoming destination for residents and visitors alike.
Councillor Ian Brown, Leader of Inverness and Co-Chair of The Inverness Castle Delivery Group, said:
“Achieving full staffing levels was always one of the biggest challenges in delivering a new destination of this scale. The Inverness Castle Experience goes far beyond a visitor attraction, with hospitality and a retail provision creating a complete experience for everyone who visits. It’s fantastic to see such a talented team in place, ready to bring energy, warmth, and Highland hospitality to every part of the site.”
Michael Golding, Chair of High Life Highland, added:
“This is a proud moment for everyone involved in bringing The Inverness Castle Experience to life. As High Life Highland welcomes nearly 90 new members of staff, it highlights the significant local employment opportunities created through this project, and the commitment to delivering a first-class experience for residents and visitors alike.”
The Inverness Castle Experience will soon be ready to share its stories, providing a new destination for visitors and residents to explore, relax, and enjoy.
The Inverness Castle Experience has benefitted from investment to support its redevelopment from the Scottish and UK governments, The Highland Council, Highlands and Islands Enterprise, and a range of other partners.
