Inverness Castle seeks Visitor Experience Assistants to turn a good day out into an unforgettable memory

As anticipation builds for the opening, the team behind The Inverness Castle Experience has begun recruiting for its inaugural Visitor Experience team, with around 60 roles available across Retail, Food & Beverage and Visitor Services.

Artist impression: landscaped gardens and South TowerSet to open later this year, The Inverness Castle Experience will offer visitors a brand-new perspective on the stories, landscapes and legends of the Highlands. Now, the team is looking for friendly, enthusiastic, customer-focused individuals to help deliver a truly memorable experience.

The Inverness Castle project is part of the Inverness and Highland City-Region Deal, a joint initiative supported by up to £315m investment from the UK and Scottish governments, The Highland Council, Highlands and Islands Enterprise and the University of the Highlands and Islands, aimed at stimulating sustainable regional economic growth.

The whole Experience is about creating that magical mix of people, place and story that turns a visit into a memory. The Visitor Experience Assistants will play a vital role in making that happen.

With a range of roles and working hours available, this is a rare chance to join something from the very beginning and help shape it into something remarkable. Staff won’t just work at The Inverness Castle Experience – they’ll be part of the experience, helping to craft something that feels meaningful, magical and uniquely Highland.  Whether it's welcoming visitors, serving food or helping someone choose the perfect gift in the shop, they will be part of a team that brings the stories and Spirit of the Highlands to life.

Working in one of three key areas - Retail, Food & Beverage or Visitor Services, an hourly rate of £13.64 is on offer along with a variety of contracts (full-time, part-time and relief), great staff benefits including holidays and pension and full training to help feel confident in the role.

If they are self-motivated, a good team player and excited to share their love of the Highlands, the team would love to hear from them.

Cllr. Ian Brown, Leader of Inverness and Area and Co-chair of the Inverness Castle Delivery Group, said:

“The Inverness Castle Experience will be a major new Experience for the Highlands, and it's fantastic to see recruitment for its frontline staff underway. This is an opportunity for people to be part of something truly special – creating genuine Highland hospitality and helping to shape how the world experiences our stories, our culture and our region. It’s about more than just jobs – it’s about creating something with lasting impact for the Highlands.”

Steve Walsh, Chief Executive of High Life Highland, said:

“We’re delighted to be recruiting for the first wave of staff who will help shape the visitor's experience. These roles offer more than just employment – they offer a chance to be part of something imaginative, exciting and rooted in local pride. We're building a team that will make sure that our visitors receive a magical Highland welcome – and enjoy working in a positive, values-based and supportive workplace from the very start.”

The Inverness Castle Experience project, opening later this year, will benefit from investment from the Scottish and UK governments, The Highland Council, Highlands and Islands Enterprise, and a range of other partners.
