When you purchase a Highlander Pass, it will be valid for one year from the date of purchase. During this time, you’ll be able to book unlimited visits to The Inverness Castle Experience from October to March, with no extra cost per visit. You’ll also receive 10% off in The Saltire Bistro and Shop all year round when you upload a photo to your pass. Please note this discount does not apply to alcoholic drinks.
The Highlander Pass is only available to residents of The Highland Council area. To unlock your Highlander Pass, you’ll need to have a highlife card.

Step 1: Get a highlife Card
You will need to be a highlife cardholder to purchase a Highlander Pass. You don’t always need to pay a subscription to highlife to be a cardholder – you can also get one for free to access library services and Pay As You Go leisure services. Details of how to get a highlife card can be found here.
Step 2. Buy your Highlander Pass
Once you have our highlife card number, you can then purchase your Highlander Pass.
Go here to buy your Highlander Pass. Choose the ticket that’s right for you - adult, child, or family - and follow the booking process. During the booking process, you’ll be asked to enter your highlife card number. This can be any of the ID or serial numbers on the back of your card, or your library (including temporary) membership number.
Once you’ve bought your Highlander Pass, you’ll receive a confirmation email with your booking details and Highlander Pass number. You’ll need this number to book your time slot and ticket to the Experience.
Step 3. Book your Visit
Now that you have your Highlander Pass number, you’re ready to book your visit to The Inverness Castle Experience.
Each time you would like to visit The Inverness Castle Experience, go to Buy Tickets and enter the following details:
• Your Highlander Pass number — this can be found in your confirmation email.
• The email address you used when purchasing your Pass.
With your Highlander Pass, you can enjoy unlimited bookable visits during the October–March period for one year from the date of purchase. Simply enter your Highlander Pass number and email address when booking.
Please note: only one booking can be made at a time. If you’d like to plan multiple visits, simply repeat this step for every time you wish to visit.
Step 4. Before your Visit
• Upload your photo to your pass
• Add your pass to your wallet on your phone

Step 5. Visit the Experience
Simply show your Highlander Pass to the Visitor Experience Team to gain entry and receive your 10% in the Bistro and Shop.
