Looking for a unique experience in Inverness this summer? On 28 August, The Inverness Castle Experience is partnering with award-winning Highland weavers Prickly Thistle to offer two exclusive tartan weaving workshops in the stunning surroundings of the Castle's North Tower.

Discover the Story Behind the Tartan

The workshops build on the story of the bespoke Inverness Castle Experience Tartan, which features throughout the attraction and in exclusive products available in the Castle shop.

Led by Clare Campbell, founder of Prickly Thistle, participants will explore the history, symbolism, and craftsmanship of tartan while learning traditional weaving techniques and creating their own keepsake to take home.

Choose Your Experience

Visitors can choose between two unique workshops:

• Tartan and Tea

A relaxed daytime session combining hands-on weaving with tea and cake, all while enjoying spectacular views across Inverness.

• Tartan at Twilight

An evening experience featuring weaving, handcrafted cocktails and canapés in the atmospheric setting of the Castle after hours.

A Unique Highland Experience

Suitable for beginners, both workshops include all materials and equipment, making them the perfect opportunity to connect with Scotland's rich textile heritage in a memorable setting.
