After discovering the Spirit of the Highlands at The Inverness Castle Experience, wander down to Inverness Museum and Art Gallery to discover even more stories connected to this landmark building.
Throughout 2026, a selection of archives and souvenirs featuring images of the iconic Inverness Castle will be on display within the first floor museum gallery, celebrating its new chapter as a visitor attraction. The display explores the Castle’s rich history and the important role it has played in the tourism story of Inverness and the Highlands, long before it opened to visitors as the Inverness Castle Experience.

Explore the evolution of the Castle site, from its earliest recorded beginnings in the 11th century to the landmark building seen today.
