Fri 6 Nov 2026
11:30–12:30
An Infestation of Highlanders
Join Highland Archive Service Community Engagement Officer Lorna Steele-McGinn for an illustrated history talk in the North Tower Bar at The Inverness Castle Experience, as part of Stories from Castle Hill.
This talk explores both the everyday and the seismic events that have shaped the story and image of Inverness and the wider Highlands.
The religious and cultural conflicts of the 17th and 18th centuries transformed Britain and Ireland, culminating in the Battle of Culloden, the last battle fought on British soil. This talk explores the dramatic events of the Jacobite Risings, tracing the story of the Highlands from 1688 to 1746 and examining the people, places and conflicts that left a lasting mark on the region's history.
Relax in the North Tower Bar while enjoying an engaging afternoon of local history and storytelling.
Ticket price includes tea or coffee and a scone.
Please note: This event ticket does not include admission to the main Experience.
