Bottle of Seanchaidh lying on its side with the name visibleWhisky lovers are in for a treat! On 12 December 2024, just 300 bottles of the exclusive Inverness Castle Experience single malt Highland whisky, Seanchaidh, will be available. This limited-edition release is available for one day only at the Victorian Market in Inverness, from 12 noon to 6.00 pm.

The Seanchaidh (pronounced shen-heh-kay), meaning "storyteller" in Gaelic, is a nod to the Highlands' rich cultural heritage and timeless tales. The limited-edition bottle, priced at £60, will have a special medal and certification, making it unique from the bottles that will go on sale in the shop when the experience opens in 2025.

A small number of bottles will be available for online reservation, allowing customers from further afield to reserve ahead of the pop-up event and pay for them on the day. Reserved bottles must be paid for and collected during a specific time slot at the Victorian Market on the 12th. If you miss your slot, your bottle will be returned to general sale, so be punctual!

  • Maximum Purchase: 2 bottles per person.

  • Price: £60 per bottle.

Councillor Ian Brown, Leader of Inverness and Area, said about the pop-up event: "The Seanchaidh Single Malt celebrates the enduring spirit of the Highlands and its rich storytelling heritage. This is a fantastic opportunity for Highlanders and visitors alike to take home a unique bottle reflecting the character of not only our area but also the iconic Inverness Castle.”

The Victorian Market, steeped in its own history, is the perfect setting for this special event. A spokesperson for the Market added: "We’re delighted to host this one-day exclusive whisky release with the Inverness Castle Experience. It’s a wonderful way to celebrate the vibrant role the market plays in our community. We can’t wait to welcome whisky enthusiasts from near and far."

The Inverness Castle Experience team will be at the Victorian Market throughout the day to share stories about the Seanchaidh whisky and the castle’s legacy. Whether you’re a whisky connoisseur or simply seeking a memorable gift, this event is not to be missed.

With just 300 bottles available, demand is sure to be high. Visit the Victorian Market from 12 noon to 6.00 pm to secure your bottle and be part of the story at the Inverness Castle Experience.
