Name Flora’s Pup - Your Friend around Inverness Castle Experience!

An exciting competition has launched for primary school and Gaelic medium pupils from across the Highlands to find a name for Flora MacDonald’s faithful dog!

Since 1896, the statue of Flora Macdonald and her Border Collie has stood proudly in the gardens of Inverness Castle. But now, Flora’s loyal pup is about to come to life in a brand-new role – as a friendly guide for younger visitors, helping them explore the Inverness Castle Experience and discover its amazing stories! But first, this adventurous dog needs a name, and that’s where YOU come in!

We want you to come up with the perfect name for Flora’s pup. What do you think would suit this inquisitive, courageous and free-spirited dog? And while you’re at it, tell us about one of the dog’s exciting adventures – maybe exploring the castle or having fun in the place you live!  Closing date: 19/05/25 Find out more here.
