We're recruiting for The Inverness Castle Experience

Get ready for an extraordinary journey through the Highlands’ unique landscape, heritage, culture and people at The Inverness Castle Experience, which is set to open later this year.  This world-class experience will draw visitors from local areas, across the UK and internationally, serving as a gateway to the Highlands with interactive and immersive experiences.

Visitors will be guided by a Seanchaidh (Gaelic for storyteller) as they explore immersive exhibits that bring Highland stories to life, with tales crowdsourced from across the region.

Exciting opportunities will be available below as we prepare for the opening of The Inverness Castle Experience later this year! We’ll be recruiting for various roles across visitor services, retail, food and beverage (both front of house and kitchen), maintenance, gardens, and clerical support. 

Current vacancies

  • Assistant Manager – Food & Beverage: Seeking two assistant managers who will support the Food & Beverage Manager and deputise in their absence at The Inverness Castle Experience. Working collaboratively with colleagues and High Life Highland, the successful candidate will support the delivery of a high-quality food and drink offering that reflects The Inverness Castle Experience brand. Closing date: 11/05/2025

  • Assistant Manager - Retail: Support the Retail Manager and deputise in their absence. Work closely with the wider team and High Life Highland to deliver a retail experience that reflects The Inverness Castle Experience brand. Closing date: 11/05/2025

  • Assistant Manager – Visitor Services: Seeking three assistant managers to support the Visitor Services Manager, deputising in their absence. Work closely with the wider team and High Life Highland to deliver a Visitor experience that reflects The Inverness Castle Experience brand. Closing date: 11/05/2025

  • Sous Chef: Responsible for supporting the Head Chef in all aspects of food production, ordering, stock management, planning appropriate menus, presentation, associated health and safety and food hygiene requirements, along with supervising the rest of the kitchen brigade over a seven-day operation.

  • Chef de Partie: Responsible for following instructions from the Sous Chef and Head Chef. All aspects of ensuring quality food preparation, production and presentation, associated health and safety and food hygiene requirements guiding the commis chef as appropriate.

  • Commis Chef: Responsible for following instructions from more senior chefs and working closely with the Chef De Partie. All aspects of ensuring quality food preparation, production and presentation, associated health and safety and food hygiene requirements.

Recruitment Open Days

We are delighted to announce three informal recruitment days at 4 Castle Wynd in Inverness. These open days will provide an opportunity to meet the management team, chat about all the job vacancies at Inverness Castle Experience and across High Life Highland, including career development opportunities and a fantastic range of benefits, whilst gaining an insight into this exciting new Highland attraction.

There will be full-time, part-time and seasonal roles available. Interested individuals are encouraged to attend and discover the potential for career development within this significant cultural attraction. No need to book.
